Sunday Morning Exercise: Take "The Wug Test"
beingblog:
by Nancy Rosenbaum, producer
Jean Berko Gleason is the mother of the “wug test” whose findings rocked the world of linguistics when they were first published in 1958. The test demonstrated that children as young as three or four can internalize complex grammatical codes no one has necessarily ever tried to teach them — like forming plurals — and apply these rules broadly, even to...

When will you have it?
meetingboy:
We need your write up.
This is a top priority.
Do you have it yet?
When?
We can’t wait! Send what you have.
What’s the hold up?
Sent. Finally.
Two days later and they still haven’t read it yet.
You can send a horse an email, but you can’t make him think.

True Naivety
What is it that the child has to teach?
The child naively believes that everything should be fair and everyone should be honest, that only good should prevail, that everybody should have what they want and there should be no pain or sadness.
The child believes the world should be perfect and is outraged to discover it is not.

@thedigitalghost socialism
@thedigitalghost that’s kinda what i was getting at. i’ve always been suspicious of people who would try to accuse socialism, communism or fascism in a moral light. My mother actually instilled this doubt early on. It seems all of these personal attacks, emotionally pleading, scab-picking attacks need to stop all-around. when one speaks to a world war II vets, their scorn is basically...

The cracked imperfect candle
full of bubbles and blemishes
the wick frayed and short
the one i choose today
the day after my fast
the month after my endeavor at reparations
what represents the life that i have built
what looks more like rubble
now, burning this candle
i release this guilt
the fire what will attempt to extinguish this pain
this hurt, this sore, sore heart and mind weary
